The State government has reiterated commitment to meeting the health needs of the citizenry.
State Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke, stated this at Amawbia, during the celebration of the fourth anniversary of Jesus Our Physician Specialist Hospital.
Deputy Governor Okeke said that the present administration places high premium on health, which he said guarantees a wealthy nation.
He emphasized that the visionary leadership of Governor Willie Obiano has guaranteed a brighter future ahead, urging for more support to secure a second term in office for the Governor.
On the needs of the hospital, Dr Okeke noted that State government will equip the lab, mount a power transformer, and provide water borehole, adding that the Commissioner for works will be directed to look into the access road to the hospital.
Health Commissioner, Dr Joe Akabuike, who revealed that the hospital has been institutionalized and captured among the fifty mission hospitals in the State partaking in government’s subvention, thanked them for their support to the present government.
Dr Akabuike further stressed that the present government is undertaking total health reforms and improvement of standards in the sector through health financing, promising that it will follow through and address challenges facing the hospital, one after another.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Anambra State Chapter, Archbishop David Eberechukwu,while pouring encomiums on the Governor Obiano-led administration for its commitment and drive to leadership, pledged to stand by the government to implement its various good programmes and activities.
Archbishop Eberechukwu also asked for more of government’s presence in the activities of the Association, as well as more involvement of the association in government activities.
The event was attended by the clergy, stakeholders, health officers, as well as members of the Association.
