The need for relevant stakeholders as well as affluent individuals in the society to assist the government in advancing the Education sector in Nigeria topped discussions
as Chukwuemeka Odumegwu University Alumni Association marks its tenth anniversary.
The event, held in Awka, attracted members of the Association from all walks of life.
In his welcome address, the National President of the Association, Mr. Emeka Amamchukwu, said their alma mater, though young, has produced great men and women who, in their various fields of endeavor, are contributing positively to the society and commended successive governments in the state and Governor Willie Obiano for their love and support for the university.
Mr. Amamchukwu noted that it is the duty of alumni associations to support the government in building the Education sector and harped on the need for all hands to be on deck to develop the education sector as government cannot do it alone.
A guest lecturer at the event, Mr. Chijioke Nwajioha, called for closer synergy between members of the association and their alma mater, urging them to contribute their quota to the advancement of the education sector as well as the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.
Some distinguished individuals who have excelled in their various professions, including the Managing Director and Chief Executive officer of ABS, Nze Uche Nworah were honoured during the event for their contributions to humanity.
