The Management of Local Government Education Authorities have been assured of the State government’s commitment to the provision of adequate facilities to enhance their operations.

State House Assembly Committee on Education gave the assurance when it visited Awka North Local Government Area Education Authority in Achalla as part of its oversight responsibilities.

Speaking during the visit, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Dr Timothy Ifedioramma explained that their visit to the Local Government Area Education Authority was not to witch-hunt anybody but to fashion out ways the State could retain its first position in both internal and external examinations.

The Committee charged the Staff of Awka North Local government Area Education Authority to be more dedicated to duty so that he State would continue to record academic excellence in all internal and external examinations since education is the bedrock for any development.

In her speech, the Secretary Awka North Local Government Area Education Authority, Mrs Benedine Anagor noted that the committee has demonstrated its commitment to uplifting the standard of education in Nursery and Primary Schools by visiting them to ascertain their problems with a view to proffering solutions to them.

The committee also visited Idemili North Local Government Area Education Authority where it brainstormed with them on how best to facilitate teaching and learning in nursery and primary schools in the area.

A member of the Committee, Mr Kingsley Iruba urged them to see their job as a call to nation building in order to give their best to schools under supervision in the interest of the State.
