Students in Anambra state have been charged to be more committed to their studies so as to sustain the excellent record the state has in education in the recent time.

The Chairman Post Primary School Service Commission, Lady Joy Ulasi, gave the charge during the flag off of 2016 /2017 leadership training for newly elected school prefects in Anambra State public schools, held at the St Peter’s Secondary School Achina.
The event which attracted government officials, principals from public schools in the state, guidance and councilors and students, featured various lectures on leadership qualities.
In a lead paper presentation with the theme “leadership for positive change” Lady Joy challenged the newly elected prefects to strive to achieving positive change by strategizing for action, have the mindset for growth,  good time management for productivity,  work as team and be competent in decision making and conflict resolution.
On his part the chairman on the occasion, Honourable Obiora  Ezechukwu, and the State Coordinator Guidance and Councilor Programme Nkiruka Nkechukwu commended the organizers of the Programme and urged the prefects to lead by example,  by living lives worthy of emulation.
Welcoming the guest, the Principal of St Peters Secondary School Achina, Mr Gabriel Nwosu and the Manager of the school, Reverend Father Felix Nwosu, reminded them that they are the future leaders of the country, saying that the nation needed sincere, transparent and committed leaders who will turn the nation around for better.
In their separate speeches the Zonal Director of Education, PPSSC Aguata zone, Mrs Dorothy Okeke, and the Principal Aguata High School, Mr Joseph Josephs,, challenged the prefects to be inspired by their new posts, be proactive, firm, prudence and abide by the school rules and regulations and to live Christ like lives in order to achieve results.
The event featured question and answer between the students and teachers while induction of the newly elected prefects and cultural displays formed the high points of the event.
