The Headquarters of the Anambra State Police Command, Amawbia, was yesterday in frenzied excitement as a kidnap suspect was paraded alongside bodies of two dead notorious accomplices of his. 

The dead criminals  were mowed down by the men of Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, when they made a swoop on them in their kidnap den in one of the forests in Urum community in Awka North local government area.

During the operation, the kidnap victims was rescued unhurt. 

 One of the suspects who is the special cyclist responsible for collection of ransom was also arrested with a locally made pistol. 

Parading the suspect alongside the bodies of the dead ones, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sam Okaula, disclosed that the suspected kidnappers had boasted of ridiculing the Police Command and their determination of making Anambra the safest state with a bold invasion of a popular club in Awka, where they kidnapped the Manager and demanded a ransom of fifty million naira. 

Mr. Okaula said some of the gang members who are at large will be arrested while information has been given on where they kept their arms. 

He reiterated the warning for criminal elements to exit the state as it will be made too hot for them and their nefarious activities.
