Traders in Otuocha market here endorsed Governor Willie Obiano as their candidate for the 2017 gubernatorial election in the state.

The unanimous decision was made Friday, during a forum of the leaders of the market, at Otuocha motor park.
Speaking on the occasion, the South East Chairman Amalgamated Traders Association Chief Okwudili Ezenwankwo explained that traders in the sixty three markets in the state have observed with keen interest events in the state as they unfold these past three years and have concluded that they would give all their votes to Governor Obiano who they said has enthroned peace in all the markets.
Chief Ezenwankwo represented by the Onitsha zonal chairman of AMATA Chief Vincent Ifeeme explained further that traders are major stakeholders when it comes to electioneering, advising other aspirants to allow the flow of development in the present administration to continue in the interest of the masses as what the state needs now is to consolidate on the developmental processes which can be achieved by APGA government known for continuity.
He announced that by virtue of being admitted into AMATA, Otuocha market has qualified to receive the ten million naira grant being disbursed to markets in the state by the governor for maintainance and running of the markets.
On his part, the traditional ruler of Umueri in Anambra East council area, Igwe Ben Emeka reminded the traders that the Obiano administration is doing a road project that connects Umueri, Aguleri and Umuoba Anam, terminating at the Otuocha Park, thereby creating alternative road for the people of the area in case of busy periods like Christmas.

Chief Udenze Ofodile while pledging to promote growth and development of the market, applauded the twenty million naira community development initiative of the governor and the ten million naira grant to markets noting that it is only a person with the heart of gold can embark on such programme in this recessive period.
Some others who spoke on the event, acknowledged that indeed Willie is working for the good of the state.
