Christians have been charged to always exhibit sterling and exemplary qualities wherever they find themselves.
Reverend Professor Christopher Anyanwu of the International College of Missions and Theology Nnewi was speaking during a church service at Heavenly life Bible Church Incorporated, Umunze.
Reverend Anyanwu said that God in His infinite mercy sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life to repurchase mankind and wash away their sins, yet many still leave a life unworthy of Christians, thereby dearing the love and grace of God.
Professor Anyanwu who referred to the book of first Corinthians chapter fifteen verse ten said God’s undeserved kindness and grace to mankind should not be in vain nor be taken for granted rather all followers of Jesus Christ should labour more to live Godly life worthy of emulation.
Also speaking the National Director Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship International, Mr Uche Chukwudire, said since Christ died to redeem mankind from sin, there is no justification whatsoever for anyone to indulge in any conduct that will attract the wrath of God.
Earlier in a sermon, the General Oversea Heavenly Life Bible Church Incorporated, Umunze, Pastor Samuel Mbanusi who dwelt on the topic “The Great Day” said the Great Day of the Lord is coming like a thief and only those living righteous life will be saved.
He therefore urged all to be prepared for the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Later in an interview, the South East President Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Bishop David Eberechukwu said salvation which only comes from God can be obtained if only one follows Christ religiously and lives a righteous live.
Thanksgiving and songs by the choir formed the highpoint of the service.
