Governor Willie Obiano says his government will continue to create more economic opportunities and reduce socio-economic challenges to enable the people surmount the effects of the present economic recession. 
Governor Obiano was speaking when he received a delegation from the State Chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN at the governor’s Lodge, Amawbia. .
Governor Obiano, who noted that due to paucity of funds, his government is presently focusing on priority areas that have direct positive impact on the lives of Ndi Anambra, said it is because of this that the state economy is still afloat despite the downturn in its fortunes. 
He pointed out that his administration had in response to the recession, pruned down its expenditure and plugged all corruption windows, adding that the result has been greater efficiency in its processes and greater success with little imputs. 
The governor while thanking the Association for its support to his administration so far, appealed for their continued prayers to enable him succeed in office. 
The Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Religious Matters, Sir Anselem Okafor said the 5 blocs of CAN representing 85 percent of christians in the state, have in their separate meetings emphasized their solidarity with the Obiano administration and noted that now, it has become more imperative for them to visibly show it through their votes during the upcoming guber election. 
The State Chairman of CAN, Senior Apostle Tim Okpala explained that the visit was to commend the governor on his landmark achievements especially in the area of payment of workers’ salaries, security, community development and promoting Inter-denominational harmony and to express their support for his administration.
