The State House of Assembly has passed a resolution, urging Governor Willie Obiano to direct the Commissioner for Road Construction,
Road Maintenance and Furniture to Construct the Ifitedunu-Umunya road.
The resolution follows a motion sponsored by the Chief Whip and Member representing Dunukofia Constituency, Chief Lawrence Ezeudu and ten others during plenary in Awka.
Sponsoring the motion, Chief Ezeudu emphasized that the construction of the Ifitedunu-Umunya road would reduce gridlocks at the Oye-agu Ifitedunu/Abagana junction.               Â
On his part, the member representing Idemili North Constituency Chief Francis Mmegbuanaeze added that the road when constructed will enhance socio-economic activities in the area.      Â
In their separate speeches, the member representing Anambra East Constituency, Mr Obinna Emeneka and his Orumba North Counterpart, Mr Romanus Obi spoke in favour of the motion.
The Speaker, Barrister Rita Maduagwu read the resolution of the House.                                                           Â
Similarly, the House passed another resolution urging Governor Willie Obiano to direct the Commissioner for Road Construction, Maintenance and Furniture to direct the contractor handling the construction of Chisco House, Amichi, Ogbodi, Osumenyi road to complete the road which it said is in a deplorable condition.
Also at plenary the House confirmed the nomination of Chief Kenneth Okonkwo as the Managing Director and Superintendent of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA BRIGADE)
