Governor Willie Obiano has reiterated the determination of his administration to invest bountifully in the economic upliftment of youths in the state.

Governor Obiano gave this assurance during the 2016 National Convention of Onicha-Ado Youth Council at the Palace of the Obi of Onitsha.
The governor who was represented by the chairman of the state vigilante supervisory committee and senior special assistant to the governor on vigilante matters, Chief Ikechukwu Aduba, maintained that the state government would in 2017 increase the tempo of giving vocational training and soft loans to entrepreneurial youths through the Anambra State Small Business Agency, ASBA to enhance their socio-economic welfare and status.
He noted that due to his trust and confidence in the ability and capability of youths in the state, more than fifty percent of his political appointees are young men and women.
For his part, the traditional ruler of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, pledged that he would not relent in his efforts to rekindle the interests of Onitsha youths in western education and enterprise as was the case in the past.
Igwe Achebe also condemned the involvement of youths in drug trafficking , addiction and land speculation, and called on traditional institutions as well as statutory security agencies in the state to form a synergy to tackle the menace.
The 2016, Onicha-Ado Youth Council Convention featured delivery of  lectures on entrepreneurship, education and security as well as merit awards to Governor Obiano, the managing director of ASBA, Chief Clement Chukwuka and the senior special assistant to the governor on financial institutions, Mr. Ernest Adinweruka among others#.
