Agro-communities in the State will in the new year experience increased government’s support to enable them boost their production.

Governor Willie Obiano disclosed this at Nimo Art and Cultural Center during the 2016 Cultural Festival and Mass Return of the Community.
Speaking at the event, Governor Obiano who noted that Nimo Community has been key to the Vegetables Export arrangement of the state, urged farmers in the community to organize themselves in cooperatives so as to access government’s agricultural support packages.
The governor commended Nimo community for her self-help efforts which he described as the way to go in the face of government’s dwindling fortunes, adding that the community’s leadership has distinguished itself in effective people’s mobilization.
He expressed delight that the Christmas celebrations in the State have been massive due to the security his administration had entrenched in the state and assured that his government will not renege in its war against criminals in the State.
Earlier, the traditional Prime Minister of the town and former Chief Judge of the State, Justice Godwin Ononiba while welcoming the governor, thanked him for leading the charge in Agricultural revolution in the SouthEast.
In his remarks, the President General of the Town, Chief Frank Igboka acknowledged that through the twenty million naira choose-your-project initiative, the present administration has made the people feel its impact, adding that they are using the festival to promote unity among their people.
In a vote of thanks, the Member representing Njikoka Two Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Sir Pete Ibida said Nimo community has benefited immensely from the present administration and as such,  their support to Governor Obiano remain unflinching.
Performances by various cultural troupes from the community as well as unveiling of the community’s magazine and ancient gong formed the highpoints of the event.
