The State Acting Director, National Orientation Agency, Awka, Dr. Mike Ozoemena, has underscored the importance of the mass media in education the general public on government development programmes, policies and activities.

The NOA Acting Director, Dr. Ozoemena who was speaking when he led some management officers of the Agency on a courtesy visit to the general manager, Nigeria Television Authority Awka, Mazi Okwu O. Okwu, said that NTA as one of the major stakeholders in media industry in Nigeria has made an indelible mark in propagating and projecting government development programmes in the country.
Dr. Ozoemena, who also said that NOA has been charged to mastermind effective propagation of the Change Begins With Me Campaign, of the Federal Government in all nooks and crannies of the country, noted that NOA cannot achieve reasonable success in that direction without the assistance of the media.

According to him, the courtesy visit was designed by the agency to develop a synergy to collaborate and partner with NTA on adequate courage and reportage of NOA activities in the state with particular reference to the change begins with me campaign, and flood menace, pointing out that without adequate publicity, the people would not be well informed.
Responding, the General Manager, NTA, Awka, Mazi Okwu O. Okwu, said, they were grateful with the visiting team for recognizing every effort the station was making towards educating the people properly on government programmes.
