Anambra To Intervene In State Land Disputes

State government has expressed desire to settle all outstanding Boundary issues as it moves to settle the boundary issues existing between

Ezi Umunya and Osile Ogbunike and Ezi Nkwelle and Osile Ogbunike Communities of Anambra State.
The Boundary Committee members led by its Chairman, the Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke paid a visit to the different spots of dispute.

Issues such as disused roads, credibility of the plan with which a Supreme Court judgement was obtained, boundary points, among others were raised during the visit.

Different tripartite points, Oguelimili, Okwutekwukammadu and Nkisi Onuogba landmarks were also visited by the committee.

Part of the delegation were about four members from each of the Communities, including their surveyors, among others.

Dr. Okeke who stressed that State government's interest in peace is the reason for why it decided to come into the issue which has lingered for a long time.

The Deputy Governor who noted that State government is not for or against any Community, urged them to accept whatever recommendations that will be made by the Boundary Committee after the visit.

Speaking, the Communities' representatives President General Osile Ogbunike, Mr Donatus Mbanefo and a stakeholder from Ezi Umunya, Honourable Ibezim Akaegbuna appreciated State government for their interest in and move for Peace, promising to allow peace to reing.

Elder Chris Eluomuno from Nkwelle Community pointed out that their only interest is for State government to put a land demarcation for them to recover lost Lands, for Peace to reign.

Other Committee members who accompanied the Deputy Governor include the Traditional Ruler of Ifitedunu, Igwe Emeka Okpuno, the Commissioner for Lands, Physical Planning and Urban Development, Sir Okey Muoka, among others.
