FG Enjoined To Tackle Recession To Reduce Suicide Rates

State

WRITTEN BY EKWI AJIDE
The rising cases of suicide in the society has been attributed to the harsh economic atmosphere in the country.

To this end, there has been renewed call on the federal government to step up efforts, not only to revamp the economy but to mitigate the impact of the economic crisis on the citizenry.Piroffering solution to the menace, Reverend Emmanuel Obianagha, who was obviously irked by the spate of suicide cases, called on the federal government to take more drastic actions to bring the country out of its economic recession as it has contributed to the abnormal behaviours of many.
He called on the citizenry to be fervent in prayers as the only solution to their economic hardship.
Reverend Obianagha also called on the various tiers of government to create more jobs, as, according to him, unemployment has led many youths into crime and thuggery.
However, Mrs Egoyibo Nweke, on her part, believes that if youths are gainfully skilled, they will be independent as the quest for white collar jobs has been the reason for the negative effects of economic recession.
