The Agricultural Equipment Hiring Enterprise (ACHE) Centre constructed by the state government at Omor Ayamelum council area for Fadama III additional financing farmers,
has been completed and fully equipped with four tractors and full implements by the National Fadama III co-ordination office Abuja.
Also completed, is the over ten million naira, two hundred and fifty metric tons capacity aggregation centre at Ifite Ogwari also in Ayamelum council area.
Inspecting the projects during their field work in the council area while on a mid- term review mission , the World Bank Task Team leader, Dr Tunji Oredipe, expressed satisfaction with the projects adding that the two day mission has been very rewarding.
Dr. Oredipe represented by the monitoring and evaluation specialist from the National Fadama Office Abuja, Mr Peter Ajibaiye who expressed surprise over the three million naira generated by the agricultural Equipment Hiring Enterprise Centre Omor in three weeks, described it as a good start.
He called on all stakeholders, government at all levels, good spirited individuals to assist farmers in the area to benefit maximally from the projects put in place by intervention programmes.
Speaking, a consultant and member of Fadama III Additional Financing Mid- Term Review Mission Team, Mr. Abiodun Akanji, advised management and staff of the Agricultural Equipment Hiring Enterprise
Omor to work according to the rules and regulations of the business world , have trained staff , spare parts and accessible fabrication centre to complement National centre for Agricultural mechanization.
On his part, the state Project Co-coordinator, Fadama III Additional Financing , Mr Chukwuka Egbue, announced that they have put in place a small scale irrigation for about fifty Fadama clusters in the participating council areas. The two day review mission by the team which was an eye opener to both the team, staff of the state Fadama III coordination office Awka, facilitators and other stakeholders .
