Speaking at a sensitisation workshop on election Security management for the coming governorship election in the state by a Non -Governmental Organization , an Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mayaki Baba said this will enable all relevant authorities and agencies to work objectively to deliver a free, fair and credible election.
Mr Baba while commending the organization for initiating the programme noted that it will help curb certain excesses and discourage violence during the election.
In her presentation, the Assistant Programme Manager of the Organization Chigozirim Okoro said the workshop was to enlighten people on presentations, and analysis on research findings on Election Security Management.
She identified threat of boycott and issue of card readers as some of the areas that need attention.
In his speech, an INEC official, Mr Ibe I've assured that the Commission has put all necessary logistics in place for a hitch free exercise, urging all stakeholders to play according to the rules.
A retired Judge, Justice Nkoli Ezenwa urged politicians not to over heat the polity, noting that the state is peacefully and stable.
Some members of Civil Society Organizations including Mr Okey Onyeka and Justice Ijeoma called on security agencies to carry out their duties with objectivity.
