The leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA has called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Chief Martin Agbaso and other accomplices of

his for unlawfully invading its national office at Abuja.

The National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye made the call in a Press briefing at the APGA State Headquarters Awka..

The APGA National chairman recalled how earlier this week, Chief Agbaso and four other expelled members of the National Working Committee of the Party, working in collaboration with some hoodlums and some Policemen, had invaded the party's office, destroyed property and carted away sensitive materials and cash.

He however commended the Inspector General of Police for intervening promptly, vacating hoodlums and reclaiming the office for staff of the Party, calling on him to investigate the matter and ensure that they are brought to book for perpetrating such dastardly act.

Chief Oye who emphasized that he was duly elected as chairman of the Party, cited Section 20, subsection 3d of APGA constitution 2014 as amended which stated that a National chairman of the Party can only be removed by two-third majority of a National convention of the Party legally convened for such purpose and pointed out that Agbaso is a stranger to the Party and as such, cannot lay claim to the leadership of the Party.

He noted that four courts in Awka, Abakiliki, Nnewi and Ibadan have all given judgements and orders that should have laid to rest every issue concerning the Party's leadership, saying that the actions of Chief Agbaso and his cohorts are geared towards disrupting the internal peace and stability which the Party is experiencing presenting under the watch of Governor Willie Obiano as the Leader and Chairman, Board of Trustees.

Chief Oye while stressing that APGA is a law-abiding Political Party, said that is why it had remained calm despite all the provocations, waiting for the law to take its course but warned that there is a limit to its patience.

The APGA National Chairman called on all party faithful to keep the faith alive and continue to work towards the progress of the Party and well as to support the Obiano administration who he noted has done well in the state saddle.
