Ogbunike Community Embarks On Mass Voter Mobilization


The people of Ogbunike, Oyi Local Government Area have began voters registration enlightenment campaign in the community.

The exercise is being organized by the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilization and Empowerment.
Addressing the people of the community, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilization and Empowerment, Mr. Sam Onwuteeka Junior said that the exercise tagged one person one voters card enlightenment campaign, was aimed at sensitizing the people on the need to go and get voters card that will enable them to vote during the forthcoming gubernatorial polls in the state.
Mr Onwuteeka made it clear that Governor Willie Obiano and his wife Ebelechukwu has done well in the state and should be allowed to continue their good works in the next four years and noted that he will extend the exercise to all the communities in the state even as he revealed that the people of the community have adopted Governor Obiano as their sole candidate during the aforementioned election.

A retired colonel in the community, Colonel Sam Onwuteeka said that the community has adopted Governor Obiano for the election due to his tremendous and verifiable achievements in office, adding that there is no vacancy in the state's Government House.
A onetime commissioner for finance in the state, Sir Emma Mbamalu, noted that there is an urgent need to educate and sensitize people on the need for them to go and validate their voter's card so as to vote for their choice during the election.
The exercise took the people to Oye olisa market, Ogbunike, where they sensitize all the market people, especially women.
