The National Executive Council of APGA has set aside the purported sack of Chief Victor Oye as the National Chairman of the Party.
The meeting also saw the ratification of a recommendation by the Party's Disciplinary Committee for the expulsion of six members of the National Working Committee of the Party for engaging in anti-party activities and gross misconduct.
Among the National Officers expelled from the Party were Ozo Nwabueze Okafor National Chairman, SouthEast, Mr Chuks Nwoga National Youth Leader, Mr Okechukwu Nkulagu Deputy National Financial Secretary, Jerry Obasi Deputy National Secretary, Ezinne Agbaogwu National Woman Leader and Terry Godfery Deputy National Treasurer of the Party.
Also expelled was Mr Campbell Umenzekwe of the Lagos Chapter of the Party for contravening the party's constitution through indiscipline.
Also in a motion, the NEC in a unanimous confidence agreed to work harmoniously for the advancement of the Party in the State and the Country as well as for the return of Governor Willie Obiano as governor of the State next year in view of his outstanding performance in office in less than 3years.
The meeting presided over by the National Chairman, Ozo Victor Oye, was attended by key APGA figures including Governor Willie Obiano and his deputy, Dr Nkem Okeke, Wife of late APGA Leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, former Information Minister, Mr Labaran Maku, former APGAgovernorship Candidate in Abia, Dr Alex Otti, former National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh, Members of Board of Trustees and National Working Committee as well as other delegates from across the country.
Addressing newsmen after the meeting, the National Secretary of the Party, Mr Labaran Maku explained that the numerous decisions taken during the meeting are to restrategize and redefine the Party for increased impact in the nation's political arena in the upcoming months.
He further revealed that it was also agreed that the Party continue registration of new members to enable it expand in keeping with its National Coverage outlook while States were advised to initiate innovative steps to top up its funding in the face of the Party's dwindling fortunes.
On the unanimous decision to work for the re-election of Governor Obiano come 2017, the APGA Scribe said the Governor has through his sterling performance placed APGA on the globe for good governance as well as shown genuine commitment towards promoting the Party, adding that Anambra State is the base of the Party in the country and will so remain.
Mr Maku emphasized the Party's decision to continue to provide a viable alternative for the nation's political arena in terms of people oriented leadership and the right economic policies to adopt especially in the face of the present economic recession.
