The State government says it will continue to place high premium on health care delivery.
Governor Willie Obiano gave the assurance while inaugurating the thirteenth edition of Mr Dozie Nwankwo Free Medicare at the Obu Umunri Palace, Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikoka Local Government Area.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy Dr Nkem Okeke said that health remains paramount to his administration.
While appreciating Ndi Anambra for the confidence reposed in his administration, Governor Obiano used the opportunity to canvass support for Mr Dozie Nwankwo who represents Anaocha, Njikoka, Dunukofia federal constituency at the National Assembly.
On his part, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, represented by the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Federal Character, Mr Darlington Nkwocha thanked the people for their support to Mr Nwankwo.
The Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Health, Mr Mohammad Usman disclosed that Mr Nwankwo, has sponsored many motions and bills that are development oriented.
In a speech, the benefactor Mr Nwankwo who hinted that he started the health intervention through his foundation nine years ago called on government at all levels to be alive to their responsibilities to better the lot of the people.
He added that he will soon complete an ICT centre at Enugwu-Ukwu which will afford his constituents free computer training, pledging to continue to do his best to ensure delivery of democracy dividends.
The Traditional Ruler of Enugwu-Ukwu, Igwe Ralph Ekpe, among other Traditional Rulers were present at the occasion.
The Free Medicare comprises medical treatment ranging from dental care, eye treatment and surgery as well as test and treatment of malaria, diabetes, hypertension, among others.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
