The branch Controller of CBN, Awka, Mr. Chuks Sokaru, who made this known to newsmen in Awka, used the opportunity to commend Governor Willie Obiano’s assistance to Small and Medium Enterprises in the state through the Anambra Small Business Agency, (ASBA). Meanwhile, reports say the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Ms Hadiza Usman, says some terminals, including that of Ikorodu, will be designated for non-oil exports.
Usman disclosed this at the flag-off of the Nigeria Yam Export Programme (NYEP) to the UK held at Lilypond Container Terminal, Lagos.
Elsewhere, The European Union (EU) Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Michel Arrion, says the European Union cannot promise further financial assistance to Nigeria.
Delivering a lecture, recently, at IBB Golf Club in Abuja, Mr. Arrion said Nigeria could not be said to be poor, as it has enough resources to meet its developmental needs, and thus, called for a more equitable distribution of the nation’s wealth to ensure growth and stability and maximize its enormous economic potentials.
