As part of the fight against open defecation and lack of clean and potable water in rural areas, the wife of the State Governor,
Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, has constructed toilet and borehole facilities for Umuzu and Ogwuikpele communities in Ogbaru Local Government Area.
Commissioning the projects, the Governor’s wife, Chief Mrs Obiano represented by the State Commissioner for Road, Rail, and Water Transportation, Honourable Chinwe Nwebili, who assured the people of more good things from the Obiano- led administration, maintained that the gesture is aimed at making the state open defecation- free as according to her, the practice has negative effect on human health.
Chief Mrs Obiano urged the people to take full ownership of the projects and protect them against vandals, just as she asked them to ensure free access of all community members to them.
On his part, the Chairman Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, Sir Nzemeka Olisa, said that Governor Obiano and his wife have redefined governance through adequate provision of basic amenities for the state residents, calling on the people to continue to support the APGA leadership for more democracy dividends.
In a remark, the Transition Committee Chairman for Ogbaru Local Government Council, Barrister Ignatius Ezediokpu, commended the people for making the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, proud in the just- concluded gubernatorial election and asked them to sustain their support for the present administration.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
