Anambra NIPR Unveils Maiden Magazine In Awka


Governor Willie Obiano has charged Public Relations officers, to be more proactive in discharging their duties.

The Governor gave the charge during the presentation of the maiden magazine of the State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR in Awka.

The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, Ogbuefi Tony Nnachetta described Public Relations officers as very critical and important in the development of the country and promised that his administration will continue to partner the State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations for sustainable development.

In a speech, the National President of the Institute, Mr Rotimi Oladele who was represented by Reverend Father Professor Boniface Obiefuna expressed joy that Anambra State is once again taking the lead in Public Relations business, urging the public to register with the Institute.

In their various addresses, the Chairman on the occasion and Provost Federal College of Education Technical, Umunze, Professor Josephat Ogbuagu and the State Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Lady Chinwe Nnedum, stated that the publication will be sustained as Anambra State is always a pace setter.

Speaking on the topic “Public Relations and Ethical issues: let the giant arise ", the Dean Faculty Of Social Sciences Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Stella Okunna, described Public Relations as a veritable tool for changing the country’s socio-economic life.

The event also featured a health talk by Dr Ifeanyi Okoye.
