Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke, has expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of Anambra Governorship Election.
According to Deputy Governor Okeke, who spoke after casting his vote, said the exercise offered Ndi Anambra opportunity to exercise their franchise.
Elsewhere , in Enugwu-Agidi ward one polling unit zero – zero- seven, there was an impressive turn out of voters .
According to an eye – witness, Prince Stephen Onubiyi, the process is commendable and peaceful with adequate security .
He confirmed that accreditation and voting started on time .
All the polling units visited, accreditation and voting started exactly by eight o’ clock in the Morning .
The units visited include Federal Government Technical College Awka, Saint Mathew’s Catholic Church Amawbia , Saint Peter’s Anglican Church, Amawbia and community school , Amawbia .
As at twenty eight minutes past ten o’clock in the morning, correspondent reports said voting was in progress at Enuobodo village Umueri ward zero- zero – six while at Nteje Oyi council area, Egbengwu ward one and two, election commenced at eight o’ clock in the morning with large turn of voters.
A call from a voter, Mr. Umeadi Anigbogu, who was accredited and voted at Nibo, the voting process there was peaceful and the turnout of voters impressive.
Similarly, election materials arrived early in Ekwusigo Local Government Area and accreditation and voting started around half past nine o’ clock in some polling units.
According to the Transition Committee Chairman of the council Area, Honourable Ikenna Ofodeme, card readers were not working in Ozubulu wards Two and Four while the same problem was later rectified in Ichi ward.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
