Saint Patrick Cathedral Awka was filled to its capacity last Sunday, as people from all walks of life converged for a special Mass to thank God for the successful inauguration of Governor Willie Obiano for a second term.
The Mass which was presided over by the Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, Most Reverend Valerian Okeke, attracted both the Catholic and Anglican Bishops in the State and beyond.
The Mass which was also to thank God for His mercies on Governor Willie Obiano during his first term, and to pray for His assistance, guidance, protection and wisdom during the second term, saw the National executive members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA and other members of the party, traditional rulers, the academia, top government officials and other well meaning citizens of Ndi Anambra in attendance.
While felicitating with the Governor, the Anglican Bishop of Afikpo Diocese, Right Reverend Paul Udogu, said Governor Obiano’s second term is a glorious moment for Ndi Anambra calling for continuous prayers and maximum co-operation for the Governor.
For the Vice Chancellor of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Joseph Ahaneku, other South-East Governor’s should emulate the developmental strides of Governor Obiano more especially in the areas, of security of lives and property, street light project, Education, advising him to consolidate on his road construction network.
The National President of Anambra State Association of Town Unions ASATU, Chief Alex Onukwue, said the second term of Governor Obiano is a consolidation journey as he has laid a solid foundation for the State.
The State Deputy Chairman of APGA Mr. Tony Omeligwe-Elee, maintained that the Governor has entered another term of hope and expressed optimism that the second term will witness more development.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
