It launches a year-long campaign dedicated to raise global awareness on issues of oral health and the importance of oral hygiene.
Oral health means the health of the mouth.
A healthy mouth allows you to speak, smile, smell, taste, touch, chew, swallow and convey a range of emotions with confidence.
Speaking on the significance of the event, a Dental Surgeon with the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku Awka, Dr Daniela Chioma, explained that oral health is vital for human well being irrespective of age or status.
Dr Daniela, advised the people to visit dental clinic or hospital, whenever they have dental or mouth problem to avoid decay, mouth odour or infected gum.
On her part, another Dental Surgeon from the same Teaching Hospital, Dr Ngozi Udegbe, who explained that love of a Dentist is love of once life, advised that people should go for scaling and polishing at least two times in six months as according to her so many symptoms can be detected and treated by the Dentist.
