Women Tasked On Child Upbringing, Support To Husbands

An Anglican Priest, Reverend Chukwudi Nwachukwu has charged women to train their children in the way of the Lord and support their husbands in their various families.

He gave the charge in a sermon during a special service to mark this year’s Mothering Sunday at Saint Silas Anglican Church Nawfia in Njikoka Local government Area.

Reverend Nwachuckwu, reminded women of their role as family and nation builders.

Speaking shortly after the service, Sir Uyamadu Nweke and wife Lady Obioma, who chaired the Parish's maiden Mothering Sunday, commended the women for coming out em-mass to celebrate the Parish's first mothering Sunday and reminded them that the task of building the family rests on their shoulders.

For Miss Rejoice Chukwuneke, who recalled that she has lost her Mother but the care and virtue he learnt from her remain enduring principles, praying God to make her a virtuous woman when married.

Some women who spoke to the ABS including Mrs. Ijeoma Nwachukwu and Mrs. Rejoice Obiakor, emphasized that children and youths must always obey their parents in addition to practicing what is contained in the Holy scripture in order to become useful citizens.
