Special Services were held yesterday in various churches to mark this year’s Mothering Sunday of the Anglican Communion.
The day was set aside to appreciate Motherhood and the role of Mothers in the society.
In a sermon during one of the services at Saint Marks Anglican Church Umuawulu in Awka South Local government Area, the Vicar of the Church, Reverend Canon Vincent Nkemdilim, charged mothers to be alive to their responsibilities especially as it concerns child upbringing.
Reverend Canon Nkemdilim, who cautioned Mothers against acts capable of debasing womanhood, urged husbands to always love their wives.
At Saint Mary’s Anglican Church Owerre-Ezukala, in Orumba South Local Government area, the Vicar Reverend ThankGod Ezekwueme, enjoined Mothers to show good example to their children to enable them become useful members of the society.
Reverend Ezekwueme, reminded Mothers of the importance of family prayers, while urging fathers to obey the biblical injunction of loving their wives and protecting their various families.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
