The Anambra State Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Culture and Tourism, Mrs Stella Onuora, says the State Government is ready to train youths of the state on entrepreneurial skills.
The Commissioner stated this in her office during a courtesy call by the organizers of Adaoma Anaocha 2018 Beauty Pageant.
She noted that the government, through the Ministry of Youth, Entrepreneur and Sports Development is ready to harness the talents of the youths by sponsoring them through entrepreneurial training and development, advising parents to encourage their children to develop their God-given talents.
Mrs. Onuora noted that most parents no longer encourage their children to develop those innate talents, where they show interest, but rather they are forced to undertake trainings that will later be abandoned by the child, adding that lack of support on the part of the parents will lead the child into frustration and confusion later in life.
She enjoined the winner of the 2018 Adaoma Anaocha to uphold the aims of the initiative in order to positively affect the lives of other youths.
Earlier, the leader of the group, Mr. Cosmas Okwudili, said the visit was to establish relationship with the Commissioner and as well introduce the new queen to her, adding that they have decided to venture into cultural development as their corporate social responsibility.
The winner of the contest, Miss Chinaza Amaefuna said that her goal as the queen is to ensure, through enlightenment programmes that Igbo culture, and Igbo language, would be sustained .
She thanked the Commissioner for her advice and encouragement while promising to be a good example to other young people especially in Anaocha.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
